Description
Can we have a right block added to the workshops page: https://globalnetplatform.org/apcss/workshops-0
Similar to the Alumni associations right block : https://globalnetplatform.org/apcss/apcss-alumni-group
We would then like to create a post similar to: https://globalnetplatform.org/apcss/apcss-alumni-group/apcss-alumni-asso...
where we would like to add workshops. The title of the block should be " workshops" The current "quick links" is now too crowded and is growing in lengh. In addition, we have archived workshops to add. The font should be small as the names to the workshops tend to be long.
Expected result
Ability to add a block to a group page.
Actual result
No ability to add a block to a group page under the group admin menu

I spoke to Lubo today 11/19/18 at 9:10 HST
I explained that at APCSS, there is a difference between courses and workshops in that all attendees to courses are Alumni. This is not the case for workshops as some are Alumni producing and others are not. Some workshops do not meet our technical criteria of being funded and executed as courses in content, attendee or time allocated.
Lubo explained that from a platform standpoint there is no difference in the interface between the two and to execute what I need they should be created as courses. This would provide us access to additional tools like schedules/sessions.
We are asking that a way be found to name workshops as workshops and not courses for the business reasons stated above and for the clarity of our users.
Resolved that in the interim:

Users will then see workshops they belong to under "My groups" as groups as there is no separate designation for "Workshops" . Additionally, they will see ALL workshops under the custom page and will have the option to request permission to join past workshops. Admittance to future workshops is controlled by RIO.
Business case for access to archived workshops
As with past courses, the ability to access past workshops is important to attendees and faculty of workshops like Maritime Security, HA/DR and climate change workshops who will want to access archived presentations, posts and contacts for research and networking purposes. Our core mission is to connect, educate and empower our family of attendees past, present and future and this is extended to workshops as it is with courses.
Michael,
Anything on the email I sent you last week on this topic?
Thanks,
Lisa
