Message from the Manager
Aloha Alumni 'Ohana and Treasured Guests,
This is Daniel, your friendly neighborhood Portal Manager. It has been a few months since I utilized this keyboard to shoot a message out to all of you.
As I stated last time I spoke with you all, "In these trying times, we may not be able to embrace each other, but we can embrace ideas", and I hope that our family abroad has taken moments to do just that. As DKIAPCSS continues to adapt to this unconventional method of communicating with you, we hope that you would always find time to let us know how we are doing, and let us know if there is something we have not talked about, that you wish we would. I want to remind you all that we have many assets that are available to you,
- from our Public-facing website: APCSS.org
- to our Public Affairs specialized periodical, we have the Currents Magazine
- We have a publication that is free, open access, international, peer-reviewed, and online: Security Nexus
- And finally, our Alumni-facing website, APCSSLink
If it has been a while since you were on the site and you have forgotten how to access the Alumni section, contact me, I would be very glad to help.
Since I have you here, let me update all of you on the interesting items that we have available on the site.
- Fishing for Security and IUU Fishing: Challenges for the Indo-Pacific and especially Oceania
- DKI APCSS 25th Anniversary Speaker Event with U.S. Secretary of Defense, Dr. Mark T. Esper.
- WPS Conversation with Thought Leaders - Dr. Melissa Finley
- The Global Engagement Center: An Interview with Principal Deputy Coordinator Daniel Kimmage
- Disinformation Series Podcast
I want to also remind you all that our amazing Library staff has MERLN available on APCSSLINK, for our oversees 'ohana. They also post contemporary recources that might be of interest to you all. For instance, recently they have published some COVID related resources.
Thank you all for staying vigilant, and if there is anything we have learned from 2020, it is be ready for unknown-uknowns.
