Keynote Speaker Bio: Brigadier General Jesse Morehouse
Brigadier General Morehouse was selected as the Mobilization Assistant to the J5, US Space Command, in September, 2021. He is responsible for integrating the National Guard’s State Partnership Program into the command’s global security cooperation initiatives as well as managing the integration of artificial intelligence capabilities into command processes.
In 1990, Brigadier General Morehouse enlisted in the Army Reserves as an infantryman. He was commissioned as an infantry second lieutenant in 1995. His previous assignments include: Division Chief for Policy, Doctrine, and Integrated Plans at US Space Command, The Colorado National Guard’s Chief of the Joint Staff, Commander of the 89th Troop Command, Commander of the 168th Regional Training Institute, Commander, Executive Officer, and Operations Officer of the 117th Space Battalion including a deployment as a Space Control Planner in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a Company Commander in the Virginia Army National Guard where he was mobilized for two consecutive Noble Eagle tours. He has also served in the Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and in the Republic of Korea. During his service in Colorado he has assisted in the responses to some of the state’s largest natural disasters including the Spring Creek Fire, Waldo Canyon Fire, West Fork Complex Fires and the Boulder and Fort Collins floods of 2013.
Brigadier General Morehouse’s awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Master Space Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.
He holds a BS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Colorado, an MS in Education from Old Dominion University, a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, is a graduate of Harvard’s Leadership in Homeland Security seminar, and has attended the NATO senior reserve officer orientation course. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Army Space Operations Officer Course, the Air Force Space Operations Advanced Course, the U.S. Army War College, the Air National Guard Commander’s Development Course and NORTHCOM’s Dual Status Commander Course.
In his full time job, Brigadier General Morehouse is the Director of Information Technology for a public school district. He is happily married and the proud father of two children. He enjoys rock climbing, endurance running, backpacking and ski mountaineering.
