BUCARAMANGA, COLOMBIA -- DIILS is a wonderful place. Their people are great. In fact, I had the best time of my educational period there. I´ve been at DIILS twice. My first time was as a student in 2013, attending the Military Law Development course during the fall. The nearly three-month MLDP-1 course was a special time. I learned a lot of new things and exchanged knowledge with classmates from 10 countries around the world. The DIILS experience was eye-opening in every aspect, because you have the opportunity to discover other cultures and to get involved in the daily life of other nations. During my time at DIILS, I met a lot of current and former U.S legal officers who taught me about many different aspects of the U.S legal system.
But that was not all; fortunately, I also had the experience of being a teacher with DIILS in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek people are great; the opportunity to teach them about my area of expertise and my nation was the best of my life. During my trip with DIILS in Uzbekistan, I also met new people, some who work with DIILS and others from different countries, and with them I also exchanged experiences. I just have to say ‘Thanks’ to DIILS. Since my first time there, DIILS has changed my life forever. It’s just the nicest place on earth.
