DIILS adjunct faculty for Maritime Border Security and Operational Law Seminar at the Mexican Naval War College, Mexico City.
The Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS), in cooperation with U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM), conducted a Maritime Border Security and Operational Law seminar for Mexican Navy (SEMAR) personnel at the Mexican Naval War College (CESNAV) in Mexico City 25-29 Jun 2012. The seminar was attended by 18 naval officers including operational and intelligence personnel, CESNAV instructors, and SEMAR attorneys. The seminar focused on a variety of legal topics, including: Law of the Sea, Law of Armed Conflict; ROE/RUF; Maritime Law Enforcement; Legal aspects of Terrorism, Drug Smuggling, and Arms Smuggling; and other Maritime Issues. Additionally, the U.S team was supplemented by an agent from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
