A DIILS team traveled to Bogota, Colombia to conduct an Operational Law Executive Seminar from 18 – 21 June.  Over 35 military and civilian lawyers from the Colombian military’s Human Rights Office as well as Colombian line officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force were among those in attendance.  The seminar focused on conducting military operations in accordance with the rule of law and human rights.  One of the participants noted that the seminar was the best overview of operational law that he had ever attended.  He went on to note that the practical knowledge of the adjuncts made the seminar extremely relevant to the challenges currently faced by the Colombian military.
