On March 16, DIILS Director, Captain Robert Sanders, and his deputy, Commander Scotch Perdue, attended the United States Army Reserve's 3rd Legal Operating Detachment (LOD) Change of Command ceremony at Suffolk Law School in Boston. Captain Sanders presented the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Director's Award to former 3rd LOD Commanding Officer Colonel Lee Cummings and to the USAR 3rd LOD. The awards were presented for excellence in leadership and for outstanding support to DIILS. The 3rd LOD has supported the USAR Legal Command DIILS team on many DIILS legal security cooperation missions worldwide. Legal Command DIILS reports to COL Cummings in his capacity as Deputy Commanding Officer, USAR Legal Command.
On April 27, DIILS Director, Captain Robert Sanders was invited by the Legal Command DIILS team to jointly present the Legal Command DIILS guidon to Colonel Lee Cummings, Deputy Commanding Officer of the USAR Legal Command. The guidon is a battle flag in the 19th century US Army Cavalry swallow-tailed style. The LC DIILS guidon displays the DIILS insignia and the Army Reserve Legal Command insignia side by side to symbolize the close working relationship of DIILS and its Army Reserve Legal Command partner.
