The Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS) conducted a two-day seminar on human rights and the law of armed conflict in Bahrain, as mandated by DoDI 5111.19 (Global Train and Equip Program) and Sec. 1206 of the 2006 NDAA.  The DIILS team was composed of three U.S. Navy judge advocates who led the seminar on international human rights and humanitarian law.  Participants included 21 Bahraini Coast Guard personnel who recently received U.S. training on biometric data collection, in support of Bahraini capacity-building efforts in maritime border security and interdiction operations.
