The Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS) hosted a
military-to-military subject matter expert exchange with the Sri Lankan
Ministry of Defense and Urban Development in Colombo, from 23 to 27 June.

The workshop focused on the legal factors associated with border security
and cyber law.  Participants included members of the Sri Lankan Navy,
Coast Guard, Army and the Office of the Chief of Defense Staff.

This bilateral engagement promoted enhanced dialogue between the United
States Department of Defense and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense.
Legal experts from both nations discussed the latest challenges and threats
facing the maritime domain and recent developments in cyber law.  DIILS looks
forward to continuing the dialogue.
