DIILS SPOTLIGHT ON STAFF
DIILS WELCOMES MAJOR JANE M. MALE AS INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS OFFICER
DIILS is pleased to welcome Major Jane M. Male, USAF, to the team as an International Operations Officer. She will lead mobile training teams that are conducting legal engagements and will be teaching in Africa, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Previously, she served as a French translator and adjunct instructor for DIILS.
After obtaining an undergraduate degree, with honors, in French and English, from the University of Florida, and her JD from the University of Houston School of Law, Major Male received a direct commission as an Air Force Judge Advocate and entered active duty in January 2007. She is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Texas, Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Supreme Court.
Major Male deployed with the NATO Rule of Law Field Support Mission - Afghanistan/Rule of Law Field Force-Afghanistan.
She served as a Prosecutor for the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Military Commissions from 2012 to 2014, and acted as trial counsel in courts-martial from 2007 to 2011. She is currently pursuing an LL.M. in National Security Law and Human Rights at Georgetown University Law Center where she is a member of the Journal of National Security Law and Policy.
