LCHR 21010 Class
From DIILS | by Super User | 03 nov 2020

DIILS graduated 25 students from the 2020 LCHR Course.  Countries represented were Cameroon, Egypt, Guatemala, Maldives, Philippines, Mali, Kenya, Lithuania, Slovak Republic, Moldova, Mongolia, Republic of North Macedonia, Nigeria, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, Burkina Faso and Zambia.  LCHR is a three-week course for military commanders, legal advisors and their civilian counterparts providing a comprehensive overview of the law of armed conflict and human rights.  Participants focus on implementing their nation’s commitment to adhere to international legal instruments that control the use of force and treatment of persons in the context of all types of military operations including those that involve international cooperation.  Participants were able to identify human rights and law of armed conflict questions that arise in the context of military operations and learned the general areas of the law that serve as standards for resolving these questions.  Congratulations to the 2020 LCHR Class!
