    Le CESA, avec le soutien de National Defence College Nigeria, l'U.S. AFRICOM, et le Département d'Etat des Etats-Unis, a organisé un atelier sur la rationalisation interinstitutionnelle pour la sûreté maritime à Abuja, au Nigéria, du 16 au 20 mai 2016. L'atelier a rassemblé environ 55 participants venus d'une grande variété de ministères et d'organisations militaires consacrées à la sécurité maritime. Seize pays ont été représentés à l'atelier.
