Applications are now being accepted for Strategic Competition, a 4-week resident course designed for experienced military officers, civilian officials, and security professionals responsible for policy, planning, strategy, analysis, capability development, acquisition, or security cooperation.

The course is divided into four modules, progressing from strategic foundations and analysis to strategy development and implementation, culminating in a structured wargame that stress-tests strategies against realistic scenarios. The Transatlantic Industrial Readiness Program, established to align military, government, industry, and security practitioners to strengthen the transatlantic defense industrial base, is integrated throughout the course, with particular emphasis in Modules 1 and 4.

Tuition may be waived for qualified participants, with eligibility determinations made during the application process. Lodging, travel, and meal costs remain the responsibility of the participant or sponsoring organization.

Who is generally eligible for a waiver? 

• Foreign military officers and foreign security and defense civilian government officials from developing countries are generally eligible for a tuition waiver. 

• Military officers and civilian government officials from states located in Europe or the territory of the former Soviet Union are generally eligible for a tuition waiver. 

• Tuition may be waived for nongovernmental and international organization personnel only after concurrence is granted from the U.S. Department of State and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. 

Candidates who are not eligible for a tuition waiver may attend at a cost of $691 per week.
