Bulgarian alumni meet to discuss civil-security

On Feb 12 the Bulgarian alumni association held an evening roundtable entitled “Civil-Military Interaction in Disaster Preparedness and Response” at the Central Military Club in Sofia.  The event drew 43 participants, 36 of them alumni, and consisted of a panel discussion focusing on crisis management and inter-agency cooperation to include technological aspects and the role of the military in civil security.  Speakers included Dr. Ivo Velikov (EP 2004-5), Rector, Police Academy; Kamen Iliev, Director of the Center for National Security, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; Mr. Selyahtin Yusein, MC STACS graduate and Inspector, Civil Protection (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) and Marshall Center professor Dr. Jack Clarke.

The event closed Dr. Jack Clarke presenting a certificate of appreciation to Ms. Tedi Koteva, Bi-lateral Affairs Office, US Embassy for her support of Marshall Center programs over the past decade.
