Bratislava, Slovakia (June 18) - The George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies organized a panel discussion with invited officials and experts on "Defending Europe's Flank" during the annual GLOBSEC conference 18 May in Bratislava.

Dr. Andrew Michta (Dean of the Marshall Center's College of International and Security Studies) moderated the interactive session while LTG Pavel Macko (the just retired Deputy Chief of Defense of Slovakia) and BG Frederick Maiocco (Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army's 21st Sustainment Command in Kaiserslautern) delivered opening remarks.

GLOBSEC is a premier event of its type in Central Europe, with heads of state and government, cabinet ministers, and other senior officials among its many hundred attendees.

The panel marked the start of intensified cooperation between the Marshall Center and the GLOBSEC organization.
