What content can be marked as public?
The GlobalNET Platform has been created and operated by DSCA under the auspices of the Department of Defense, a branch of the U.S. Government. As such, GlobalNET must adhere to the information disclosure practices as defined by Executive Order (EO)13526 "Classified National Security Information, EO 13800 "Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure" and the Freedom of Information Act.
Specifically, the GlobalNET Platform is not authorized to contain information that has been classified in the interest of national security or records properly marked as "Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)" (or bearing a legacy marking of "For Official Use Only (FOUO)".
Items that may exist on GlobalNET AND should not be marked "public:”
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII) must not appear in public documents, with specific exceptions for approved public-facing contacts to be contacted e.g. for more information regarding a public event.
- Copyrighted documents such as certain course materials that have specifically defined access controls and are not to be made public.
GlobalNET has designated Organization Managers to control the process of posting publicly accessible information.
Organization Managers are trained annually to be aware of what may be considered non-public information, and must carefully review content before making it publicly available. Thank you for helping to maintain GlobalNET as a safe place for our members.
