On 16 May 2023, ORF (Observer Research Foundation) published NESA Center alumnus Viraj Solanki's article "The Colombo Security Conclave: What is it and what does it mean for Australia?"

Solanki argues that "With the support of the CSC, Australia can enhance its engagement with the Northeast Indian Ocean region."

Viraj Solanki is the Research Associate for South and Central Asian Defence, Strategy and Diplomacy at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), based in London. His research focuses on India’s policy towards the Indo-Pacific region, primarily on the Indian Ocean littoral and island states, and their foreign policies in relation to India, China and the US; and the Quad countries’ role in the Indian Ocean region.
