Alumni Publication: "Warfare Strategies in the Twenty-First Century" by Eman Ragab
NESA Center alumna Eman Ragab's new edited book, "Warfare Strategies in the Twenty-First Century," published by the al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, is out in bookstores now and available for purchase.
Book Description:
In the twenty-first century, the conventional warfare strategy is no longer the only strategic option to fulfill countries' national goals and interests. Other warfare strategies are becoming more convenient and effective, without the need to deploy the armed forces or engage with the enemy on the battlefield.
The goal of this book is to map the transformations in strategic thinking and practices in the 21st century by examining seven warfare strategies and how each developed in practice through analyzing case studies from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa region, and the African Sahel. This includes the conventional warfare strategy, the economic warfare strategy, the hybrid warfare strategy, the asymmetric warfare strategy, the proxy warfare strategy, the cyber warfare strategy, and the psychological warfare strategy. The future of these strategies is being examined and the related challenges to national security and strategic thinking and practices.
