Professor Jeff Payne speaks at Indian Ocean Security Conference

On 28–29 February, The Pathfinder Foundation hosted the Indian Ocean Security Conference - Phase III. The event focused on the following themes in an Indo-Pacific context:

  • Indo-Pacific strategy and its implications on the Indian Ocean community.
  • Underwater Domain Awareness: Security and economic dimensions.
  • Climate change, maritime disaster management, and blue-green economy.

NESA Center Professor Jeff Payne was a panelist for Session 2 on "Underwater Domain Awareness: Security and Economic Dimensions." The session was moderated by Admiral (Ret.) Jayantha Perera, the former Naval Chief of Sri Lanka. Watch Professor Payne's virtual presentation below.

The event also featured remarks by the H.E. Ranil Wickremsenighe, President of Sri Lanka, and U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie J. Chung.
