On 18 November 2024, at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, D.C., the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies leadership and faculty welcomed five delegates from the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), the premier training and research institute of the Government of India, for an exchange of informed views on strategic issues among peer researchers. Deputy Director COL David Lamm, USA (Ret.) and Associate Deans Charles Marks and Richard Wiersema delivered formal remarks outlining the NESA Center’s mission and upcoming programs for the year. They then took questions from the group about the unique role and value of the NESA Center and the Department of Defense Regional Centers. Following those discussions, the group exchanged views on strategic competition, the security situation across the NESA region, and the outlook for U.S. foreign and national security policy under the incoming presidential administration. The IIPA’s visit is an annual highlight on the NESA Center outreach calendar, and we look forward to future dialogues.
