The Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies hosted a luncheon discussion on 31 July 2024 at the Army-Navy Club in Washington, D.C., on the upcoming United States Presidential elections. Associate Dean Charles Marks moderated a conversation with Yuko Mukai, the Washington, D.C. correspondent for Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan’s national print newspaper, and Jonathan Landay, the National Security reporter for Thomson Reuters news service. The conversation focused on the implications of the Presidential election on U.S. foreign policy with a guaranteed change of administration regardless of the election outcome. Approximately 75 members of a variety of embassy country teams posted in Washington, D.C., along with a delegation of Iraqi interagency policymakers, participated in the discussion.
