On Friday, April 27, 2018, former Perry Center Professor, Raúl Oswaldo Jarrín Román, was announced as Ecuador’s new Minister of Defense. Minister Jarrin Roman previously held the position of Minister of Defense in 2005 and 2006 and subsequently has held positions as Ecuador’s Deputy Secretary of Defense; Secretary of National Security; and head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces to name a few. Additionally, he has held various positions within the Army as Commander of the second and fourth divisions. We are thrilled to see our former colleague continue to excel and look forward to working with him.
