On March 1, 2017 Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo spoke on U.S. efforts to combat human trafficking and transnational organized crime in the Americas at the Woodrow Wilson Center Latin American Program's event on Migration, Trafficking and Organized Crime in Central America, Mexico and the U.S.  Other panelists included Gretchen Kuhner, Director, Institute for Women in Migration, Mónica Salazar, Past President, Collective Against Trafficking in Persons, Dr. Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera, Woodrow Wilson Center, Public Policy Fellow, and Thérèse Couture, Data Analyst, Polaris.
