This chapter comprises the report from the March 2007 conference entitled "A Comprehensive Approach to Modern Conflict: Afghanistan and Beyond." The discussions are centered along three main themes: ISAF operations in Southern Afghanistan, the challenges and opportunities for whole of government and whole of effort approaches to conflict response and mission requirements, and NATO's key role in supporting the comprehensive approach.
