This chapter discusses the implications of human, drug and weapons smuggling in Southeastern Europe for the regional as well as European security. The author argues that the routes used to traffic people, drugs and weapons can readily provide a suitable logistical infrastructure to terrorist groups and serve as a staging ground for future terrorist actions.
