JAKARTA -- In July, 2016, DIILS partnered with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense Legal Bureau to conduct a four-day workshop on Comparative Military Criminal Law & Structure. 41 Indonesian military lawyers attended the workshop, which included presentations by Indonesian and U.S. military law experts describing their respective military criminal justice systems. The presentations addressed jurisdiction, crimes, roles and qualifications of legal personnel involved, and military correctional facilities. DIILS engagement supports Ministry of Defense efforts to revise military justice statutes and regulations.
