Future Leaders Program
As part of the Maritime Security Challenges conference, 14 men and women are participating in the Future Leaders Program (FLP). This program is a new feature of the Maritime Security Challenges conference series for 2016. FLP is an initiative of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies and the Royal Canadian Navy. Officers from various national maritime agencies, including navies and coast guards, as well as government officials from defence and departments have been invited from around the Asia Pacific region to participate in this unique career-building program. They'll be featured in a presentation to the senior group on Thursday to share their thoughts on the state of maritime security in Asia from the perspective of future leaders. The group is pictured here with Canada's Commander, Maritime Forces Pacific Admiral Art McDonald and DKI APCSS' Deputy Director Brig Gen (Ret.) Jim Hirai (both in the front center). These participants come from 10 countries: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, United States, and Vietnam.
The Maritime Security Challenges 2016 conference is being held in Victoria, BC, Canada from October 3-6. For more information to to www.mscconference.com
