DIILS is pleased to announce a new resident course; Legal Aspects of Maritime Law Enforcement and Security Operations (LAMSO) for FY2019.

LAMSO provides a great opportunity for participants to gain knowledge about both the theoretical legal framework as well as the practical aspects of maritime law enforcement and counter terrorism in the maritime environment.  The course will include topics on fisheries, piracy, environmental pollution law enforcement, maritime use of force, and maritime domain awareness.  LAMSO features visits to U.S. Coast Guard units. There will be two courses offered in FY 2019.  The first course is a two-week course from 28 November to 14 December 2018.  The second course will be a three-week course from 5 - 26 September 2019.  The difference between the two courses is that the three-week course will include travel and discussions in Washington, D.C.
