As part of a two week visit to the United States, a delegation of faculty and students from Cameroon's International War College visited the Africa Center for a day of discussions on a variety of topics on June 13, 2016. Led by the Commandant of the War College, Major General Esaie NGAMBOU, discussed topics such as Cameroon and the U.S. (Past and Future Perspectives), Countering Violent Extremism: U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy and Africa's Role, and U.S. Support to International Cooperation in Africa. The Africa Center, with the support of the National Defence College Nigeria, U.S. Africa Command, and the U.S. State Department, hosted a weeklong Streamlining Interagency in Maritime Security Workshop in Abuja, Nigeria, on 16-20 May. The workshop assembled approximately 55 participants hailing from a wide variety of ministries and military organizations devoted to maritime security.
